Importance of Sleep

Importance of Sleep

By March 10, 2015 blog No Comments

With the recent events surrounding the economy, it seems more and more people are stressed and this is causing them to have trouble sleeping. If you have ever had any problems getting sleep, it is vital for a healthy, active lifestyle. All systems of the body need this time to recoup and prepare for the rigors of the day ahead. Sleep aid drugs are usually seen as a last resort when nothing else seems to work. These types of sleeping aid products can be effective, but it is important to be aware of some of the side effects. They can become addictive and make it nearly impossible to sleep without them. Choosing to go the pharmaceutical route from the beginning is probably not your best option, and I highly discourage it.

As mentioned, sleep is most important for recovery. Your body need time to rest and repair itself in order to stay healthy and mentally alert. The best way to accomplish this is to get enough sleep. Most people need a minimum of seven to eight hours of sleep. Without sufficient sleep, the immune system can have trouble repairing itself.

Sleep helps reduce excess cortisol levels, increase protein synthesis, increase anabolic hormone levels, and Growth Hormone (HGH) levels rise during deep sleep.

I have also found that sleep disorders impact 1 in 6 adults. Recent studies show that sleep deprivation can contribute to increased accidents, worsening health, and lower test scores. The National Sleep Foundation polls show that over a six year period, only half of adults get a good night sleep on a regular basis.

Recently the FDA has approved two prescription sleep products which are relatively safe, GABA and Dopamine. GABA is an amino acid classified as a neurotransmitter. It helps regulate sleep cycles and acts a relaxing sedative. Dopamine is also a neurotransmitter that plays a crucial role in regulating sleep and brain activity associated with dreaming.

There are natural forms of both GABA and L-Dopamine. One is Velvet bean which naturally contains dopamine. The natural form of Dopamine and GABA are much safer that the prescription form. With the launch of our new product SomaRest, we researched the ingredients that worked and that have clinical studies to back them up and then took a kitchen sink approach to combine them all together into one synergistic formula that works. SomaRest contains: L-Tryptophan, Hops, Velvet Bean, GABA, Chamomile, Passion Flower, L-Theanine, Lavender, Peppermint, Melatonin, and Magnesium. For more info on this product visit www.somarest.com

Sleep Deprivation can lead to:

  • Increased risk of illness
  • Increased risk of heart disease
  • Increased risk of accidents
  • Impaired thinking (slow reaction time, memory loss)
  • Poor metabolic function (unhealthy weight gain/loss)
  • Mood related problems (stress, anger, irritability, depression)

So if you find your self experiencing any of these problems, it may be time to get more sleep or more quality sleep. I have found SomaRest to work very well and due to the number of ingredients and various mechanisms that it uses, I guarantee that it will help you sleep better. You can find this product at health food stores or online at www.fountainofyouthnutrition.com Since using this product, I fall asleep quicker, I sleep better, and awake more refreshed. Another excellent product that works well is HGH Complete. You can also find more information on this product at www.hghcomplete.com Thanks for reading and sweet dreams! :)
